Barcelona > Toulon > La Spezia: Tomorrow, Lycamobile Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta 2013 organised by Sail Training International will hoist the sails in Barcelona from Saturday 21 to Tuesday 24 September. The spectacular tall ships event with over 1.75 million visitors expected across the three Mediterranean Regatta port events sees Gaastra International Sportswear on board as its official apparel supplier for the first time – exlusively to the event, the nautical fashion brand has designed a special Event collection for women and men. Thirty ships of various shapes and sizes of the Sail Training fleet will be converging on Barcelona for the nautical 4-day-festival before the start of the first race on 24 September to Toulon, France. Some of the largest and most iconic tall ships in the world will be on show, with trainees from all over the world taking part. To name a few, the impressive 115-metres long four-masted barque Kruzenshtern, the second largest sailing ship in the world, 109 metre-long Mir sailing ship (three-masted schooner), 1919 built Spanish schooner Santa Eulalia, Dutch Gulden Leeuw sailing ship, German Alexander von Humboldt II and many Sail Training vessels more will visit Barcelona’s port. Experience four days of cultural and sporting activities, workshops, concerts, street parades for the public at large to crew parades along the piers and guided tours on board the vessels!
Momentum is already building for the Parade of Sail when the fleet depart Barcelona on Tuesday for Tall Ships Race 1 heading to Toulon. From Friday 27 to Monday 30 September international tall ships will grace the port of Toulon during the nautical Toulon Voiles de Légende 2013 event. The second race from Toulon > La Spezia is set to fire up on 30 September. It will be the first time, the Provincial capital of Liguria hosting a Sail Training International event! Taking place within the Festa della Marineria 2013 from Friday 4 — Monday 7 October 2013, you can marvel at numerous tall ships berthing at the port of La Spezia, Italy.
