This year’s summer collection takes us to the southern French Mediterranean coast, where we dive into the flair of the Côte d’Azur. In addition to the luxury coastal lifestyle and Mediterranean colours and patterns, mainly two people have inspired us: Brigitte Bardot & Alain Delon. No other pair embodies the French Riviera lifestyle as these two – even today.
Starting point is the beautiful “Route Méditerranée“, which leads sailors from St. Tropez via La Fourmigue and La Giraglia to Monte Carlo. In the sixties of the last century the famous jet setter couple enjoyed this tour on the yacht “Pen Duick” of Frenchman Eric Tabarly. As one of the sailing heroes of his time, the former Navy officer knew the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean. Exclusive stops as the legendary Beach Club 55 and the romantic scenery of the port of St. Tropez were among the favourite places of the film stars.
Then and now, a special spirit of freedom and optimism surrounded the southern French coast. And so did with our two world stars. In the fifties and sixties Brigitte & Alain were world-famous style icons. The sensual and extra feminine appearance of Brigitte and the casual, classic sailor’s look of Alain were the ideals of this time. Never shy from a fashion statement or flirt, they dominated the fashion world of their time. With our new collection “Nautique Méditerranée” that French maritime “Joie de vivre” finds its way back into our wardrobe.
