For the latest Breton Collections, less technical but more fashion focused with a timeless nautical style, Gaastra takes you back in time to the famous American ocean races with their elegant, retro-nautical style. Gaastra’s latest Breton collections U.S. IRC Regatta and U.S. Ocean Race are a tribute to traditional American sailing. The first line is characterized by a faded colour palette, ranging between navy and ‘regal red,’ and weathered, small multi-badges and stamps and subtle prints with hand-embroidered nautical typography. Indispensable men’s items such as a real winter southwester of rubberized canvas with a removable Sherpa lining and nautical hook-and-eye closures and for women, long parkas with wool lining details and detachable hood, will let you step into the limelight this season. Breton-themed U.S. Ocean Race goes back to the historic ‘naval sailing’ traditions with a graphical colour palette of black, grey melange, dark steel grey, off-white and faded red and such archetype styles as a double-breasted cabana jacket in double-face wool, tough oil-waxed jackets, striped sweaters and maritime “officers’ jackets’ with velvet trim and antiqued uniform buttons.
