Being the second of five events in the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup 2013, which is debuting this year as a new European sailing series for Olympic and Paralympic classes based on established European regattas, the renowned Delta Lloyd Regatta will be held 2013 from 21–25 May off Medemblik/Netherlands. For years, Gaastra has been a loyal partner of the Olympic Holland regatta on the IJsselmeer, now continuing its support to the 29th edition of the Medemblik regatta as one of the partners and with Gaastra Pro as sailing clothing supplier for the upcoming years. The Delta Lloyd Regatta is internationally known for various introduced innovations (separate classes for women, 470 and Mistral, shorter courses, colored spots to identify leading competitors. ..), that were subsequently adopted by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF).
The second leg of the EUROSAF Champions Sailing Cup 2013 – Fraglia Vela Riva 2013 will be the first event running from 8–12 May – also sees adaptations of the new EUROSAF scoring and race format at Medemblik including shorter and more races each day. The aim is to make sailing easier to understand for the spectators and to make it even more attractive for the athletes.
