Ready, set, sail! Baltic Sea City Laboe is welcoming about 150 classic yachts during season’s glorious German Classics Regatta, the annual get-together for classic yacht fans marking the climax in Germany’s classic regatta calendar. Running from August 21 to 24, the famous Kiel Fjord and the harbour of Laboe, since 1988 annually awarded with the Blue Flag, a certification of its high environmental and quality standards, is turning into a stunning sea of masts at the XXVI. German Classics edition. Ranging from majestic 6 to 12 metre class yachts, Herreshoff designs, constructions by Henry Rasmussen and Olin Stephens to Hansa Jolly and dragon boats. A melting-pot of classic yacht culture to marvel at in the far north of Germany! Thursday is kicking off with a welcome drink for all crews and on Friday, 22nd of August, short races will be sailed at the „Strander Bucht“. On Saturday, the traditional long distance race will grace the Kiel Fjord, starting at 11:30 am (local time). For the prestigious Twelves and 6 metre class yachts, there will be additional races on Friday and Saturday to battle it out. Join this sailing event organised by the German Classic Yacht Club (FKY) and catch a breath of wood, wind and sea!
